In addition to the hostel we have an organic farm called Pohoiki Organics. We offer work at the farm for those who wish to visit Hawaii and yet stay for free through work exchange. 

The farm is located on a beautiful 5 acre site only 1 mile from Isaac Hale Beach park at Pohoiki, where you can surf  (board, body or boogie) on good waves and spear, shore or net fish if you like. You can also check out the nearby lava flow, or charter a boat to get up close to the lava

You can also buy fish from local fishermen who catch Ahi (yellowfin tuna), Mahimahi, Ono (wahoo), etc. from their boats. You can also arrange to charter a boat with them.

We are located only 1.5 miles from the wonderful therapeutic warm ponds of Ahalanui. These warm ponds are heated naturally by geothermal activity and are very clean as they are continually replenished by fresh ocean water via the short channel. We love to go there and soak, float, swim, watsu and massage and sing to the stars and watch the moonrise! When you put on a mask, you can see a whole ecosystem of creatures. The tiny fish will come up and nibble on your skin (it tickles) if you sit still for a while.

We have an incredible ocean view from the land and a constant, refreshing trade wind breeze blowing across the farm. The road frontage of the farm is lined with mature prolific mango trees. Wild coconuts, avocados, guava, passion fruit, and other fruits are plentiful and close by, depending on the season.   

Our intention is to create a fully organic farm with many varieties of fruit trees, taro, herbs, and vegetables. Our vision is for a new age atmosphere where our guests/members will be able to teach/study yoga, dance, healing, massage, music, permaculture, nutrition, spirituality, philosophy, and any other positive new age practices. Another of our goals is to create an atmosphere conducive to international cultural exchange. Naturally, we will also have, volleyball, croquet, board-games and badminton. Tennis courts are available at Pahoa High School a few miles away. We will probably never have shuffleboard or cricket but some of the girls want to form a rugby team! We have some pretty tough  wahines here at the farm sometimes. Ocean  sports are the thing for many of us because we are there and it is cool and wet especially after working up a sweat and getting dirty.
